Next trip south for Double Barrel Blues Band: Biketoberfest in October

      By Mark Bialczak/The Post-Standard

      March 05, 2010, 7:45AM

Daytona Bike Week went very well indeed for Syracuse's Double Barrel Blues Band.

Guitarist Mark Cloutier says: "A great experience across the board! We met some great people and were treated very well by all. The weather was cold and rainy Saturday, gut we toughed it out adn got the respect from all at the Seminole Harley Davidson."

The folks liked them so much they were invited back to play Biketoberfest this October.

A blogger from Melodic Revolution Records caught the band. Nick wrote: "The overcast skies didn’t slow the boys from New York down in fact I think it fueled their set of originals as well as tributes to legends like BB King, Eric Clapton, Chris Rea, Stevie Ray Vaughn and many others. These guys know how to play the blues."

Cloutier's wife, Dawn, was there with a camera to catch DBBB at Bootsies Hideaway in Port Orange, Fla.

      Enjoy the YouTube clip.

The 69th annual Bike week kicked off this weekend at Seminole Harley Davidson in Sanford, Florida today. And what a great start with 3 hours of smoking blues from Upstate New York Blues Band - Double Barrel Blues Band. Originally DBBB were scheduled as the openers for Florida native southern rock band Molly Hatchet best known for songs like Flirtin’ with Disaster. So much for Flirtin’ with Disaster the guys cancelled today’s show and rescheduled it for tomorrow because the weather forecast looked better for Sunday. Talk about a bunch of Prima Donna’s which is just fine by me.

The overcast skies didn’t slow the boys from New York down in fact I think it fueled thier set of originals as well as tributes to legends like BB King, Eric Clapton, Chris Rea, Stevie Ray Vaughn and many others. These guys know how to play the blues. So my suggestion is this, the Double Barrel Blues Band are performing 2 more shows before heading back home to shovel snow off their driveways. They are going to do an encore show at Seminole Harley Davidson in Sanford Fl, tomorrow at 3 pm and then they are tearing the roof off at Bootsies Hideaway in Port Orange Fl. from 9:00pm-1:00am

Go see them and tell em Nick sent ya.

Double Barrel Blues Band lands Daytona Bike Week gig

    By Mark Bialczak/The Post-Standard

    January 04, 2010, 11:00AM

daytonabikeweek.JPGSyracuse's Double Barrel Blues Band will join the Daytona Bike Week action on Feb. 27 and 28.

Guitarist Mark Cloutier of East Syracuse says "whoo hoo" to this news.

The Double Barrel Blues Band has landed a "featured act" gig on the Harley Davidson stage at Daytona Bike Week, on Feb. 27 and 28.

"A big reason we got this gig was our main stage performance at Blues In The Bay Labor Day weekend 2009," Cloutier says of the Alexandra Bay fest. "A committee member saw us and asked if we would like to play Daytona."
